My
name is Johanna Santinho. I was born in Colombia and raised in Northern
New Jersey. I am married to my high school sweetheart and love of my
life; together we have four beautiful children ranging from the ages of
12 years to 19 months. We settled in JCP 3 years ago, and we are having
the time of our lives.
I
have a BA from Rutgers University, with an MA in Anthropology and minor
in Archaeology. I teach Spanish for the afterschool St. John’s
County, FL “LEE" program and enjoy sharing my culture with the little
ones.
Fitness,
Health & Well being are very important constants in my life! I
was
involved in competitive swimming & tennis from age 8 to High
school
and continued to be active through my adult life. Currently I am
pursuing additional fitness certifications as well as wellness, health
and life coaching through ACE and AFFA. As of today I am Group Fitness
Certified as well as Kickboxing certified by AFFA. However, I am most
proud of my Zumba certification through the Zumba Fitness Corporation.
I love being a fitness instructor!
It
is a pleasure to see the same faces week after week and become a part
of their fitness curriculum. I am motivated by all the attendants and
receive so much more from them than I could ever give. I
want to connect with their life changes and enhance these changes,
whether it is weight loss or just joy and recreation. I teach Zumba
because I feel it. It reminds me of childhood holiday parties and
gatherings. When we Cumbia, Salsa, Merenge, I channel my grandfather,
grandmother and many other relatives that form part of my Colombian
Heritage. I feel “free” to express my adoration for this culture.
I
am very sincere about life and intend to live this life in the simplest
and most fruitful manner that is granted to me by the HIGHER POWER. I
share this philosophy with Family and friends and embed it in my
children’s lives. We live life as green and organic as we can.
Sigan
Zumbando!
Sincerely,
Johanna Santinho
